About the Danya Institute
The Danya Institute seeks to promote the health, education, and well-being of individuals and communities. The mission of the nonprofit Danya Institute is to provide information to the public and healthcare professionals on health issues that promote change in attitudes and behavior using unique and creative strategies. The Danya Institute disseminates health research to enhance workforce development.
It is staffed by a team of experienced professionals who bring to the organization a dedication and understanding of addiction treatment and prevention services. The staff has experience providing technical assistance and training in substance abuse treatment, as well as managing a pool of expert consultants. The Executive Director and the Director of Training have both organized and implemented dozens of training workshops and symposia around the country on a wide range of topics in addiction treatment.
The Institute's expertise includes extensive knowledge of professional development and workforce issues as they relate to the substance abuse field. The staff has developed curricula, delivered training, facilitated meetings, and worked on policy issues. In addition, the Danya Institute staff has more than 30 years of combined experience in conference and meeting planning, having worked on gatherings ranging from small groups to 1,000 people.
The Danya Institute manages the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center (CEATTC), which covers the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland (for continuing education), Kentucky, and Tennessee. The overall goal of the CEATTC is to improve the quality and quantity of knowledge and resources for the treatment of substance use and addiction, and the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases among drug-using individuals.
