The courses in the Danya Learning Center are the result of fruitful relationships between Danya International and its corporate partners The Danya Institute and The Matrix Institute.

The Matrix Institute is committed to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug use through treatment, education, and research. The Matrix Institute is a non-profit organization established in 1984 providing services from five outpatient treatment centers in three counties in Southern California. The Matrix clinics are also the sites of a number of ongoing research projects as part of national efforts to bring research closer to clinical practices.

The Matrix Model® is a cognitive-behavioral intervention that translates critical information from neuroscience, behavioral psychology, and the 12-Step program into understandable and useful treatment topics providing a guideline for recovery. The Model has been evaluated in a number of published studies that support its efficacy with a variety of drug and alcohol problems. In recent years the Matrix Model® has been adapted by countless providers nationally and internationally.

The Danya Institute seeks to promote the health, education, and well-being of individuals and communities. The mission of the nonprofit Danya Institute is to provide information to the public and healthcare professionals on health issues that promote change in attitudes and behavior using unique and creative strategies. The Danya Institute disseminates health research to enhance workforce development.

The Institute has expertise providing technical assistance and training on substance abuse treatment issues as well as treatment staff workforce development. Institute staff members are expert in developing curricula, delivering training, facilitating meetings, and working on policy issues. The Institute manages the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center, which has the mission to improve the quality and quantity of knowledge and resources for the treatment of substance use and addiction, and the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases among drug-using individuals.
